Other Jain Temples in Rishabhdev Town & Nearby
The sacred town of Rishabhdev or Kesariyaji is not merely home to the great Kesariyaji Atishay Kshetra. It is blessed with a cluster of Jain jinalayas, bhattaraka smarakas, and gurukul temples that together make the entire town a living Digambar Jain tirtha. A dedicated Jain pilgrim visiting Kesariyaji would do well to visit all these sacred sites. This guide covers all temples listed on kesariyaji.org, beginning from those nearest to the main temple.
1. Bhattarak Bhavan β Sarasvati Bhavan (Bhattarak Yashkirti Bhavan)
Distance: ~200 m from Kesariyaji Main Templeβ Holi Chowk, Rishabhdev town
In Holi Chowk of Rishabhdev town stands a magnificent five-storey building known as Bhattarak Yashkirti Bhavan, together with a chaityalaya (Jain temple) within its premises. This bhavan is a testament to the deep presence of Digambar Jain monastic authority in Rishabhdev, named after Bhattaraka Shri Yashkirtiji who played a pivotal role in the Digambar tradition of this region.
The Sarasvati Bhavan within the complex served as a centre of Digambar Jain scholarship. Its location just 200 metres from the main Kesariyaji temple makes it a natural first stop for pilgrims who wish to understand the monastic and scholarly heritage of Rishabhdev's Digambar Jain community. The chaityalaya houses Digambar Jain idols and is open for worship by the Digambar Jain samaj.

Distance: ~400 m from Kesariyaji Main Temple β Middle of Rishabhdev town
Situated in the heart of Rishabhdev town, within a Nohra (traditional Jain communal compound) belonging to the Digambar Jain Dasa Narsinghpura Samaj, is the exquisite Kaanch Ka Mandir β the Glass Temple. This Digambar Jain jinalaya is adorned with intricate mirror and glasswork, creating an atmosphere of dazzling beauty and spiritual magnificence.
Glass temples of this style are a unique expression of Digambar Jain devotional aesthetics, where craftsmen use thousands of small coloured mirror pieces to create ornate panels around the Tirthankara pratimas. A visit to the Kaanch Ka Mandir offers a beautiful contrast to the stone antiquity of Kesariyaji, and reinforces the richness of Digambar Jain artistic tradition.

Locally known as Bhim Paglya (Bhim's footprints), this site is revered as the memorial of one of the great Digambar bhattarakas who upheld the Digambar monastic tradition in this region.
The Paglya or sacred footprints tradition is especially significant in the Digambar Jain context β it marks the spiritual presence and guidance of an enlightened Digambar Muni or Bhattaraka. Digambar Jain pilgrims traditionally visit this smarak to pay their respects to the monastic lineage that protected Kesariyaji through centuries of adversity.

A Bhaktamar Mandir that illustrates all 48 verses is a rare and profound spiritual gift to pilgrims. The visual depiction of each verse β including the miraculous power of devotion to Lord Adinath β makes this a deeply meaningful destination for any Digambar Jain devotee visiting Kesariyaji. 6. Chandragiri β Bhattaraka Chhatris & Smarak

In Digambar Jain tradition, Chandragiri is a sacred name associated with the great pilgrimage hill at Shravanabelagola (Karnataka), where colossal Digambar Jain monuments stand. The local Chandragiri near Rishabhdev similarly carries the memory of Digambar monastic authority. The chhatris set against the Aravalli hills create a deeply peaceful and historically evocative setting for meditation and remembrance of the great Digambar Jain acharyas who protected this tirtha.

Lord Vasupujya is associated with the buffalo (mahisha) as his emblem symbol (lanchhana) in Digambar iconography. A temple of this antiquity, dedicated to Bhagwan Vasupujya and situated amidst the tribal heartland of southern Rajasthan, speaks to the remarkable depth and reach of the Digambar Jain presence in this region for over six centuries. For Digambar Jain pilgrims making the journey from Udaipur to Kesariyaji, the Peepli Atishay Kshetra is a natural pilgrimage stop that enriches the spiritual journey. Combining a visit to this kshetra with the Kesariyaji darshan allows the pilgrim to connect with two Digambar Jain atishay sites in a single day.
